Christmas and New Year Rambles.

I can smell the turn of the new year.

With the air of Christmas still hanging in the air, mistle-toes on the sidewalks looking slightly out of place, the breath of candies lingering on my breath and the spirit of Christmas love still bursting my heart at the seams, Jan 1st always seems to come a wee bit too fast and I feel awkwardly unprepared. Christmas Canoodling

Christmas, a time for gatherings, merriment and play. The annual tradition continues at Wanching’s this year with a revolutionary theme of “black-glamour” and a twist of deadly sins.

Highlights?

We weren’t sure when the midnight mark was as everyone had different times on their watches. We thought we’d go with the radio but apparently we had missed that completely.

In true renegade style, we had our own count-down! It was our Christmas, didn’t matter when it was for the rest of the world!

Is there much to love about Christmas?

Of course there is.

I’ve been looking forward to Christmas since September.

And what is it I look forward to? The gathering of friends, the spirit of sharing, love and joy and the fact that Christmas presents a great time to do many special things we often overlook in our busy schedules.

Christmas, in spite of the increasing commercialisation, has retained, for me, a sense of redemption. (more…)
